Who we are

Information we collect

Information you give us

You may choose to share information with us when you:

  • Join our VIP email list. We collect your email address and, if you provide them, your name and any other details the sign-up form asks for.
  • Book a session or consultation. When you schedule through our booking tools (see “Third-party services” below), you provide your name, email address, and phone number, along with the time you book. Free consultations don’t require any payment when you book. If you decide to move forward with a paid session, we set up that booking for you personally, and payment is handled at that time.
  • Contact us by email or phone. We receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address, phone number, and your message.

Information you share during sessions is not collected through this website. Materials like graphs or summaries we prepare for a client afterward are created by us from that conversation, and they live in our files. They’re not something the website gathers.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit sawubonaranch.com some information is collected automatically by our website, our hosting and security providers, and the tools described below. This can include:

  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Your IP address and general location (such as city or region)
  • Pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you arrived at our site (for example, from a search engine or a link)
  • Information stored in cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below)

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your questions and messages
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage your sessions and consultations
  • Send you VIP list emails you’ve signed up for, such as news, events, new groups forming, and offers
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
  • Keep our website secure and working properly
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

Our email list and how to unsubscribe

When you join our VIP list, you’ll receive emails from Sawubona Ranch® from time to time with information, events, and offers. We promise to be respectful with our communications.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing annie@sawubonaranch.com and asking to be removed.

Our email list is managed through SmackDab, a customer-relationship and booking platform.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted outside services to run our website and our business. When you use these services, the information you provide goes to them and is handled under their own privacy policies as well as this one.

  • Booking: Individual sessions and consultations are booked through SmackDab (bookings.smackdab.ai). Group sessions are still booked through OnceHub for now; everything else has moved to SmackDab.
  • Email list: Our VIP email list is managed through SmackDab (see “Our email list and how to unsubscribe” above).
  • Payments: Payments for paid sessions are currently collected through PayPal. We’re in the process of moving payments to SmackDab, but that switch isn’t finished yet. Until it is, PayPal handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, and we’ll update this policy once the change is complete.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics, added through Google’s Site Kit plugin for WordPress, to understand how visitors find and use our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit and general device and location details. You can learn more at Google’s “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” page, and you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google Signals data collection is turned off, and no Google Ads account is linked, so our site does not use Google’s advertising features.
  • Reviews: Our homepage shows Google reviews using a widget from Trustindex, which loads content from Trustindex’s servers.
  • Fonts: Our site uses Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers to load the typefaces we use.
  • Hosting and security: Our website is built on WordPress with the Divi theme, hosted by WP Engine, and protected by Cloudflare. These providers process technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and guard it against spam and attacks.
  • Embedded content: Some pages may include content embedded from other websites, such as videos (for example, YouTube). Embedded content behaves the same way as if you visited the other site directly, and that site may collect information about you and set its own cookies.
  • Social media: Our site links to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and blog posts include a Facebook share link. If you click these, you’ll be taken to those platforms, which have their own privacy practices.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser. We, and the services we use, use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep the site running and secure. For example, our security provider, Cloudflare, sets a cookie to help tell real visitors from automated bots. WordPress and our Divi theme may also set cookies needed for the site to work properly, such as for site administrators who are logged in.
  • Understand site usage. Google Analytics sets cookies that help us see, in aggregate, how visitors use our site.

Third-party services, such as booking pages, the reviews widget, or embedded content, may set their own cookies when you use them.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block cookies altogether. If you block cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it either.

We share information only:

  • With the service providers described above, so they can perform services for us (such as booking, email, payments, analytics, and website hosting)
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Sawubona Ranch®, our clients, our horses, or others
  • With your permission

Your contact and booking information stays with us. We don’t share it with other people, and no assistants, bookkeepers, or co-facilitators have access to it.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, and we choose reputable service providers. Still, no website, email, or online system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information by email or through website forms.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, such as staying in touch, managing your bookings, and meeting legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When you unsubscribe from our emails, we stop sending them. We keep client records for seven years after our work together ends.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Our sessions are for adults 24 and older, and we do not see clients under the age of 24.

Your choices and rights

You’re in charge of your information. You can:

  • Access it: Ask us what personal information we have about you.
  • Correct it: Ask us to update or fix information that’s wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete it: Ask us to delete your personal information. We may need to keep some records when the law requires it, such as for tax or accounting purposes.
  • Unsubscribe: Opt out of our emails at any time using the link in any email.

To make any of these requests, email annie@sawubonaranch.com or call (720) 468-0068. We’ll respond as promptly as we can.

Links to other sites

Our website contains links to other websites, such as our booking pages and social media profiles. We aren’t responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our website or services change. When we do, we’ll post the updated policy on this page and update the last updated date. We encourage you to check back now and then.
